Self leveling crane forks require 30% of the rated load to balance properly without assistance. Between 30 and 100% of the capacity, they will balance nicely if the Center of Gravity isn’t beyond the forks reach. All loads should be leaning back like they do in this video. It is possible to put a foot on the back of the structure and pull back on the head of the unit to set a steeper angle.
